Since 2009, Jeff Cohran has been the tour and production manager for Atlantic Records artist, Janelle Monáe, & her Wondaland Records label. During his time with Ms. Monáe and Wondaland, he has produced shows at The White House; The Nobel Peace Prize Concert; Grammy Awards; Sydney Opera House; Saturday Night Live; Coachella Festival; American Idol; Glastonbury Festival; Montreux Jazz Festival; David Letterman Show; Jimmy Fallon Show; The Ellen Show; Dancing with the Stars; BET Award; The Jools Holland Show; MTV Video Awards; So You Think You Can Dance, among others.
Cohran is a partner with The Muddy Water Group, an Atlanta-based entertainment company specializing in creative consulting: management; A&R; marketing; & production of live events. Jeff Cohran serves as the manager for the Atlanta indie sextet, Jaspects. Cohran A&R’d the group’s Double Consciousness (2007) & The Polkadotted Stripe (2009) albums.
A 2006 graduate of The University of Tennessee-Knoxville (Journalism Electronic Media & Political Science), Jeff Cohran’s other passions are sports, journalism, & activism. In his four years at UT, Cohran served as a staff writer & political columnist for the university’s Daily Beacon newspaper. Cohran cites his experiences as a columnist & covering the Volunteers’ football, basketball, & track beats as being transformative in his view of the world. A career activist, Jeff Cohran served as the president of the UT National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) college chapter (2005-2006) & vice president of Tennessee’s NAACP
Youth & College Division (2002-2006).
